Sunza Samuel, a 16-year-old kid from Adamawa State, has been detained for unlawfully possessing guns in the state.

We have learned that the kid, who originates from Dunge village in the Shelleng Local Government Area, was apprehended for having in possession of a revolver weapon, according to SaharaReporters' sources.

On October 2, 2021, Samuel was apprehended in Ngurore, a satellite town on the outskirts of Yola, the state capital, and taken into custody.

It is well known that Ngurore is home to a number of criminal groups, including bandits and abduction gangs.

Suleiman Nguroje, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest to SaharaReporters on behalf of the state's police department.

"On December 2,2021, while on a confidence-building patrol in Ngurore, the command's operatives attached to the station detained a 16-year-old Sunza Samuel, who was armed with a revolver handgun," he explained.

"Moreover, on December 1, operatives attached to the command's "anti shilla" squad (a criminal gang of teenaged boys and girls) dismantled a criminal network and confiscated a huge number of weeds from a hideout located on the remote side of Jambutu, Yola North.

"After commending the operatives for dislodging and reclaiming the public space, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, urged all Divisional Police officers (DPOs) and their supervisory Area Commanders to "intensify efforts in dislodging the crime network and denying the criminals the opportunity to regroup anywhere in the state."
