Despite the substantial police presence, EndSARS campaigners in various cars have crowded the Lekki tollgate.

While driving passed the stationed police vehicles, the campaigners held on to the Nigerian flag and screamed #EndSARS, according to SaharaReporters.

This is despite the presence of at least 30 police vans stationed at the tollgate.

"We will begin the protest at the Unity Fountain in Abuja around 8 a.m.," human rights campaigner Omoyele Sowore stated.

"I don't think we need to alert the police about the protests," Adeyanju said, confirming that the protests would begin at the Unity Fountain.

Folarin Falana and Adebowale Adedayo, two of the organizers, had also added their voices to the protests via social media posts.

Falana, better known as Falz, and Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, both Nigerian rappers, used their various platforms to distribute fliers about the event, which was scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., explaining that the decision was made to prevent security forces from harassing participants.

"In commemoration of the lives lost on 20-10-20, there will be a memorial automobile procession on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Lekki toll gate," the leaflet reads.

For safety concerns, we should all try to stay in our vehicles and in groups throughout the march. Please arrive on time so that we may all go forward together."

"This is an advise for specified places in Nigeria for #EndSARS Commemoration and Memorials for Wednesday, October 20, 2021," one of the organizers said on Tuesday.
