Senator Andy Uba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Anambra State governorship election on November 6, dodged a gunfire on Saturday.
According to eye, the event occurred at a rally at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in the Aguata Local Government Area, when a police officer on duty mistakenly discharged a firearm.
According to a near-scene videographer, an accused police officer was inebriated because his mouth was dripping with the stench of alcohol.
It was nevertheless found that, in order to ensure disciplinary punishment against the erring police officer, a retired Deputy General Police Inspector, took on the issue.
Uba, who later talked to the gathering, said that he was on the race to free the state of the underdevelopment to which the All Progressive Grand Alliance subjected over the years (APGA).
The day President Mohammed Buhari handed him the flag in Aso Rock he said Anambra had been released.
"The Enugu-Onitsa Road is my first task; it's not eco-friendly. Work will start straight away on the road. This is the core of my central membership," he remarked.
He asked his supporters to mobilize for the electoral victory of the party and said that the electorates has the potential to win an election.
