BREAKING: SUNDAY IGBOHO TO BE RELEASED


Strong diplomatic footwork finally cuffed the hand of the Nigerian government and helped secure the release of the Yoruba Nation's incarcerated agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, who was arrested in the Republic of Benin
 .

According to sources, diplomats increased the pressure on Nigeria's western neighbor, Advanced countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and the United States, have been putting strong pressure on the Republic of Benin to refrain from handing Igboho over to Nigerian authorities, according to sources. 

The Global Directorate of the Yoruba Nation thanked the government and people of the Republic of Benin for their intervention to free him. In a statement published on tuesday afternoon and signed by its director, Princess Adeola Atayero Olamijulo

The group thanked all group those whose prayers and interventions ultimately led to the activist's freedom. Olamijulo thanked the various Benin  lawyers who were quick to broker the matter when news of Cotonou's arrest leakedAccording to sources, Adeyemo flew for Germany on tuesday. 

His position was that justice would be denied Igboho if he returned to his homeland. and would be subjected to the treatment of Nnamdi Kanu, in which the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was abducted from Kenya and jointly attacked, in clear disregard of various international treaties  and others.

 A US attorney, Leesi Ebenezer Olanrewaju, who is part of the Igboho legal team, had previously spoken of strong indications that the Republic of Benin will not transfer Igboho to Nigeria on the grounds that InterPol and the authorities in that country were not ready to have the prisoner transferred to Nigeria.

Olanrewaju announced that Igboho had committed no crime under international law while advocating for Yoruba self-determination, an issue recognized and approved in various conventions. He said earlier in the day, "We are aware of the situation at this point. 

We have successfully notified." UK Government on the dangers of Sunday Adeyemo returning to Nigeria where his life is in danger. We believe the UK would have accepted your asylum application in good faith prior to today.
