In a statement on Friday night, Mallam Muhammad Garba, Commissioner for information in Kano, said that the controversial Sheik had been charged in court.
He said the court ordered that he had to be returned in prison until July 28.
"Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, a Kano-based Islamic scholars, is famous for its controversial religious comments and statements that are considered as a shameful statement of friends and victims to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) has been charged to the court for the blasphemy."
"The development followed the receipt of the first information report from the police by the Attorney General's Office and Commissioner for justice who prepared allegations against the ulama.
"Abduljabbar was later charged on Friday, July 16 before the upper Sharia Court judge, Kofar Kudu, Alkali Ibrahim Sarki Yola, where the accusations included alert, incitement, and violations of singing were mentioned.
"After the court sits, it delays the case until July 28, while the scholar will remain under police detention until Monday when he will be sent to prison until the date is postponed."
